What should we do with the Leopold II monument in Ostend?

60 years after the independence of republic Congo this statue
of Leopold II still has a place of honour at the seaside of Ostend.
Ostend owes much of its wealth to the bloody colonial
oppression and exploitation of the Congolese population.
PROPOSAL
An annual event with the burning of the king
1. Remove Leopold II to a museum, the horse and the rest of the monument remains
2. Every year a noose doll is put on the horse, a Leopold II covered with tar and feathers
3. June 30, as apotheosis of a summer festival on the beach and dike, 'Popol Carbon' is burned
4. June 30, 1960, Independence Day of the Republic of the Congo
