3. THE TEMPERATURE OF LITERATURE
The magazine is organizing a language festival in Antwerp. This themed issue offers context and reflection on the language festival, which focuses on language play, language fun, and language creativity.
To visualize this, they wanted a festive, playful cover.
Lines of thought: TV game shows about language, board games...
Initial sketches and documentation: I looked somewhat to retro TV shows with festive, kitschy sets.

Amsterdam turns 750 years old. The magazine join in the celebration and focus in this theme issue on the most important cultural city of the Low Countries.
Assignment: They wanted a recognizable city view (canals, bridges,...) that unites the past, the 15th century, and the future in one image
The challenge: a lot of information while the client and I like to keep the cover simple
The Solution: centrally located the typical Amsterdam bridge with a vision of the future reflected in reverse
Amsterdam then: Rembrand-like figure on bridge, with the typical old Amsterdam as a background
Amsterdam tomorrow: futuristic woman, contemporary and futuristic Amsterdam architecture

4. EEUWIG AMSTERDAM
