Linedrawings on paper

Steps:

1. Linedrawing on paper

2. Simple grey 'coloring' in photoshop to divide the image in different zones

3. Extra handdrawn elements

5. Texture

Textures:

- I have a collection of hand drawn and painted grey-textures on my computer.

Here I used grey ink washes.

- The different shades in the leafs are done with the dodge & burn tools in photoshop.

- For a sharper grain I bitmapped this texture layer (back to greyscale, bitmap-diffuse dithering)

- A basic photoshop brush on the dissolve modus for a airbrush spattered stroke.

- 2nd edition '15 -

Color variation in Orange & Blue

- 3th edition '16 -

The client wanted the same image but with something extra.

I went for a Jules-Vernes-mood with an octopus and a matching engraved sky ('borrowed' from Gustave Doré).
